A Postdoctoral (or MS degree) Position Available
A postdoctoral (or MS degree) position is currently available at the EMBL (Environmental Membrane Biotechnology Lab.) in the School of Environment and Engery Engineering, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Gwangju, Korea. EMBL’s research interest includes (1). novel polymers/nanomaterials-based (hollow fiber)membrane fabrication for separation technologies, (2). artificial water/ion channels for water desalination, and (3). their system application in medical/environment/energy
1. Qualification:
To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a Ph.D degree (or MS degree) in environmental sci. & eng., materials or chemical engineering, (bio)chemistry, polymer science, or relevant field with a good publication record. Additionally, a solid background in membrane fabrication with characterization (SEM, TOC, HPLC, FTIR, XRD, XPS, etc.) experience is required. Fluency in either Korean or English is necessary.
2. Responsibility:
The postdoctoral research associate will work on an advancement of science and technology mainly with state-of-art separation membranes for dialysate regeneration, hemodialysis and for water desalination.
3. Compensation:
The starting monthly salary for this position will be followed by GIST internal guideline. However, it will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, publications and research background. The salary has a potential to increase based on the employee’s performance and progress. Four major insurances will be provided.
